Gone crabbing

There is something golden about the first sunny day of summer, something spectacularly gorgeous about that first clear evening of warmth...

And the best thing you can choose for that very first evening of splendor is going crabbing with those you love best, the familiar faces of family.

I felt so lucky out on the water with Mr. Wonderful and our wonderful son, just the three of us in Stephen's boat with his crab pots and the sun dipping low between Whidbey and Camano Islands.

It was perfection...

but too soon we had to bring the boat in.

Time to head for home
after one last walk along the beach,
to gather a shell or two and enjoy the last sun on rocks, driftwood, shells and toes.

Summer in the Pacific Northwest and fresh dungeness crab for supper.
True bliss.
